The SoleBuddyz Story

Here is the story of the creation of the SoleBuddyz™.

There was a fire in an adjacent unit to my small prosthetics business where we make custom prosthetics for amputees and we were forced to relocate. Everything had to be packed up and loaded into a truck and unloaded at the new location in less than a week!

After many long days of effort, we were finally up and running again. But unfortunately I had developed some stabbing pains in my heels. My doctor informed me that I was suffering from PLANTAR FASCIITIS! I was told there were no medical treatments for the affliction, so I looked to the internet for help. I ordered expensive shoes and heel pads etc., but six months later I was still in daily pain. My shop has cement floors and I’m on my feet 6-12 hours per day.

Every morning, my first steps were an unpleasant experience in pain. One night I wrapped my sore feet snugly with an elastic bandage. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the “first steps out of bed” were less painful than I had expected. That’s when I realized that the irritated cells of the plantar fasciae were slowly filling with fluid as I slept. I quickly set to work designing a device that could produce a ‘Focused Compression’ right where it was needed. After a few minor design changes the SoleBuddyz™ were born.

When worn overnight, they kept the irritated cells of the plantar fasciae from becoming filled with fluid. I also discovered that within two weeks my plantar fasciitis was nearly gone!! We have supplied SoleBuddyz™ to others suffering from PF and to their, and our delight, they experienced significant benefit the very first morning! SoleBuddyz™ can also be worn during the day as well as overnight to help facilitate quick healing.

My PF comes and goes depending upon my work and activity schedule. Just last week, I put in some extra hours at work as well as walked 18 holes of golf, roughly 5 miles. My feet were very sore when I got home. I wore my SoleBuddyz™ that night. My heels were still tender the next morning, but I could walk without my elbows flapping the chicken dance. I wore my SoleBuddyz™ all day the next day as well as at night and by the next morning, the pain in my heels was minimal and well on my way to being fully recovered a few days later.
